This is my very favorite body of work. Please enjoy your trip through these five galleries.
I was able to make these special images from vintage Polaroid film from 2004-2011. The film was discontinued in 2006, I keep hoping that somehow, it will come back. I used my last film for new images in 2012. But, for now, these are all we have.
I'd like to think that these Polaroid Paintings allow us to see past reality to bring an alternative vision of the world into focus.
A Polaroid Painting starts with an original image captured on vintage film with a vintage camera. As the image is developing, the artist uses emulsion as a drawing or painting medium.
Polaroid Painting is not digital art – it is a combination of film and drawing techniques performed directly on the emulsion of the film.
All images are 12x12 inches (matted and framed to 16x20), 16x16 (matted and framed to 20x20) or 24x24 inches (matted and framed to 24x24) pigment prints on Fine Art Watercolor or similar art paper. Each print is hand-printed by the artist using only the finest all-archival paper, pigments, mats and backing boards. Frames are black or silver matte museum standard. Some images are available on gallery-wrapped canvas, ready to hang.
Each image is printed in a limited edition series of 200 prints (50 in each of 4 sizes).
